Pouya Aryanpour (born 1971, Tehran, Iran) is an Iranian contemporary artist, art instructor, and university lecturer. He is recognized for his contributions to Iran’s visual arts scene and his innovative approach to painting, interior design, and curatorial projects.

Aryanpour was born into a distinguished family. His father, Amir Hossein Aryanpour, was a renowned Iranian lexicographer, sociologist, and philosopher. Aryanpour was homeschooled until his mid-teenage years before attending Fine Arts High School. He later pursued higher education in painting at Tehran’s Azad University of Art and Architecture.

Aryanpour began his artistic journey in the mid-1990s, initially focusing on painting. His works explore themes rooted in Iranian culture, symbolism, storytelling, Persian calligraphy, and architectural influences. His early pieces featured abstract forms and traces of color, creating a sense of mystery and suspense.

Over time, his style evolved, incorporating ephemeral forms and lines that fused into recognizable shapes, including plants, animals, architectural structures, and human impressions. His projects are often site-specific, based on extensive research and study.

Aryanpour’s works have been widely exhibited in Iran and internationally, including biennials, art fairs, and prestigious institutions. His influence extends beyond his artwork, as he has played a significant role in supporting and developing Iran’s visual arts space through teaching, curatorial projects, and artistic consulting.
