Bita Vakili, born in 1973 in Tehran, Iran, is a renowned Iranian painter known for her postwar and contemporary art. She holds a B.A. in Painting from Azad University and an M.A. in Painting from Art University in Tehran. Vakili is a member of the Society of Iranian Painters and the Institute for Promotion of Visual Arts.

Vakili’s work is deeply rooted in contemporary abstraction, but over time, she has incorporated figurative elements into her paintings. Her earlier works were purely abstract, often resembling a bird’s-eye view of landscapes, creating a sense of poetry and tranquility. However, her recent paintings have evolved into a conceptual and figurative abstraction, blending intense colors and layered textures.

One of her most notable exhibitions, The Garden of History, showcased 16 paintings that explored themes beyond personal experiences, reflecting broader historical and cultural narratives. Her technique involves fluid color application, creating an explosive and dynamic atmosphere on large canvases. Vakili’s ability to balance color, form, and dimension has made her a standout figure in Iranian contemporary art.

Her paintings have gained significant recognition in international auctions, including Christie’s, where her works have been highly valued. She has also exhibited in over 80 group exhibitions worldwide, including in Dubai, Canada, the U.S., China, Monaco, France, Germany, and the U.K.
